 Dogs are great facilitators of social interaction, especially between strangers, so if you’re new to the area, want to expand your social circle, would like to bring your kids along or find your pup a play date, this event is for you!

 

The event takes place on our Rooftop bar, where the dogs are free to roam and rumble off-leash while you get to sip and socialise your way through the afternoon.

Golden Sheaf Doggy Dating

The Golden Sheaf has teamed up with The Social Dog Company and local dog rescue organisations to bring you DATING WITH DOGS! A series of fun, flirty and fundraising afternoons for dog-loving singles -  dogless or dateless.


So if you're bored of dating apps, awkward first dates, don't have a dog or have three - come find love and meet like-minded people at Dating with Dogs where anything is paw-sible.

Dog Dating @ Stanley's

Stanleys on Stanley are hosting an amazing dog dating event in 2020!

If you have a pooch and you're single and ready to mingle this is THE event of the year.

Time to throw out those dating apps and awkward first dates! Come find love, meet like-minded people and date with your dog - anything is paw-sable.

Hooper Ruff will be there with some sweet gift bags and treats for you and your pooch.

We will also have Hooper Ruff themed cocktails based on your pup's personality!

Also, we have a VERY fun game planned called 'Find My Love Bone' which also has a great prize.

The Great Nundle Dog Race

The Great Nundle Dog Race at Nundle Recreation Ground attracts more than 1,000 people and dogs for a day of novelty dog races, high jump, doggy derby, and best dressed dog. The day culminates with the Great Nundle Dog Race for working dogs from across the region.

As well as the extensive program of dog events there is face painting, jumping castle, merchandise stall, hot dogs, steak sandwiches, tea, espresso coffee, cakes and a bar for a great family day out.

Bondi Beach’s iconic Dog Day returns, coming in hot thanks to a successful first year event hosted by Pound Paws sup-pawted by Waverley Council & The Bucket List.

Pound Paws Dog Day in Marrickville

The Inner West’s famous Golden Bone Dog Race returns for 2020!

The Henson, combine forces with Pound Paws charity, to provide a community event aimed to bring together dogs and dog lovers in the Inner West Community.

Plenty of Inner west canine rescue organisations involved on the day with dogs available for adoption & cuddles.

There will be a variety of tail waggin’ activities like; Puppy Ball Pit, Doggie Aura Readings, Live Entertainment and even celeb judges for Best Dog Trick / Best Dog Costume.

Dogs in the Park 

Dogs in the Park offer great events through out 2020 that will get you out of the city. These events draw in locals and travelers from all over NSW.  Check out the dog sports demonstrations, best-dressed pet competitions, dog got talent contest and interactive stalls

 

They also have have local dog rescue groups in attendance, so you could go home with a new best friend!

Mardi Gras Fair Day

Making their Doggywood Debut, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT will have two Guide Dog Puppy Preschool sessions showcasing their cutest recruits.

 

Cuddle a puppy, pat an Ambassador Dog, melt your heart and learn just what it takes for these super-pups to make it through the gruelling training to be a visually impaired person’s best friend and guide. And if that isn’t enough, stay around for most instagrammable event of the day – puppy selfies at the Guide Dogs Puppy Photo Booth.

And while you’re in the Doggy ‘hood, check out some of the Doggywood stallholders and pamper your pup with a range of pooch products and services.

Sydney Royal Dog Show

Sydney Royal Dog Show aims to find the champions of the canine world. During the 12 days of competition of the Easter Show, thousands of dogs will compete in Conformation, Obedience, Agility and Sweepstake Competitions.​

Dirty Dog Trail Run

Welcome to the Dirty Dog Tail Run at Coopernook State Forest, just off the Pacific Hwy between Taree and Kew. Set amongst the scenic and serene eucalypt forest, you’ll have two course distances to choose from; a short course approx. 4km run/walk or a long course approx. 8.5km run/walk.

 

Both courses offer stunning scenery and appeal to both the novice and more experienced trail explorer. All courses are clearly signposted and our awesome animal loving team will be cheering you on along the way.

 

When you register simply select the distance you and your hound will complete.

This dog show will be held in beautiful Rushcutters Bay Park overlooking Sydney Harbour.  There will be thirty (30) boutique stalls offering a variety of doggie related accessories and services. Additionally there will be face painting, fun dog competitions and a Rotary sausage sizzle

Stunning Harbor Views

Rose Bay Dog Beach

Full of local paws and their owners having a chinwag and relaxing. The most stunning views of Sydney harbor and the bridge. Great beach with lots of room to roam and romp. Dogs are allowed off leash at all times on the Rose Bay foreshore between Percival Park and Dumaresq Reserve.

 

You will notice stingray signs at Rose Bay Dog Beach. They are around, so just keep a bit of a look out.

Your dog is also more than welcome at other nearby parks but only on a lead.

Little Patch of Heaven 

Silver Beach Kurnell

Just a small strip of sand that is quiet, with hardly any waves. Perfect for a little stroll. Facing Botany Bay, Silver Beach in Kurnell has a dog friendly section towards the west at Bonna Point Reserve. There is lots of nearby street parking available, mainly along Prince Charles Parade.

Stuff for the Family 

Clontarf Reserve Beach

Clontarf Reserve is a beautiful park on Sandy Bay Road in Clontarf, with excellent picnic and BBQ facilities, a cafe and restaurant, playgrounds, toilets and showers and beach access. Plenty of large trees offer lots of much needed shade on sunny days.

Type: Dogs have to be kept on a leash and are only allowed in the park between the hours of 10am and 6pm.

Location: Dogs are allowed off-leash at Sandy Bay, just north of Clontarf Reserve. Sandy Bay also has a small sheltered beach that is also very shallow, perfect for dogs to run in.

Lakes Beach 

This post-card perfect beach along the central coast makes for an awesome weekend trip from Sydney. With white sand and moderate surf, Lake Beach is great for swimming and water wading for the whole family. After you’re done at Lakes beach, head over to the dog friendly Muncha’s Café to enjoy some good food and relax with a couple of drinks.

McCauley Beach

Dedicated dog-owners are know to drive south all the way from Sydney to spend a day at McCauley’s with their fur-babies.

 

Just one glance and you’ll soon know why. A popular local surfing spot and favoured family destination, McCauley attracts super friendly folks, has smaller creeks that are ideal for young pups and kids and is so spacious it never feels overcrowded.

On sunny days this is THE dog beach to be at. It’s the only dog-friendly beach in Sydney that is also ocean facing, so factor in stunning endless water. But there are some drawbacks – the parking situation can be annoying because it is popular.

Natural Lagoon

Flora & Richie Roberts Reserve

The grassy dunes and natural lagoon in the Flora and Richie Roberts Reserve in Curl Curl between Dee Why and Freshwater Beach make for an exciting spot for dogs to have a blast.

Day Trip Out Of Sydney

Dunbogan Beach

If you're in the mood for a road trip, and ready for a picnic - this is your beach! lay down a blanket on the back seat and secure your dog crate. Plan your route to ensure there are ample places to stop off to let your pup stretch its legs. Dunbogan beach is a four-hour drive up the coast from central Sydney and your dog is bound to be impressed by this quiet and spacious 9.3 km stretch of sand. You and your doggo can enjoy the leashed area between Seaview Avenue and Kattang Nature Reserve. Alternatively, if your dog is itching for an unrestrained run, an off-leash area is located between Seaview Avenue and Beach Street.

Callala Beach

Callala Bay and Callala Beach are two of the most charming areas on the NSW South Coast, ideal for relaxing vacations away from the crowds. Both towns boast sensational sandy stretches of beach (separated by a headland).

Shhh - It's a secret 

Kutti Beach

If you blink, you could miss it. Kutti Beach, a tiny little beach, quietly tucked away between Parsley Bay Reserve and Watsons Bay in Vaucluse. The beach is accessible via a narrow staircase right next to the Vaucluse Amateur Sailing Club located at the end of Wharf Road. Dogs must be on a lead, however... You’ll find lots of dogs happily running in and out of the water and nobody seems to mind.

Stuff for the Family 

Clifton Gardens Beach

Clifton Gardens is one of the many highlights along the popular Taronga Zoo to Balmoral walking track. This place is great for a number of reasons, there is netted swimming and a fenced playground. It also has BBQ and picnic facilities. 

Dogs love it here, with lots of space to run around, both in the park as well as on the beach and in the water.

Type: Off leash before 9am and after 4pm from April to September, and before 9am and after 6pm from October to May.

Rowland Reserve

One of the most popular dog parks in Sydney’s northern beaches is the Bayview dog park on Pittwater Road in Rowland Reserve.

It has a large grassed area as well as beach access into Pittwater, next to the boat launching zone. Also, if your dog is in desperate need of a professional wash, on weekends you’ll typically find a mobile dog wash service in the park.

Culburra Beach

Laid-back Culburra has two excellent surfing beaches which are both very dog-friendly and although that’s certainly reason enough to visit, we guarantee the town itself will also entice you to stay a few days. Just a 20-min drive from beautiful Nowra, Culburra is home to Culburra Beach (north) and Currarong Beach (south) which together offer over 7km of breathtaking sandy shores for you and your pup to enjoy. Between them sits the protected Wollumbula Lake – part of the Jervis Bay National Park – so you’ll find some dog-walking restrictions in this area where native birds nest.

 

Type: Unlimited off-leash fun is permitted on both beaches from 4pm to 8am.

Nelsons Beach

This long and glistening sandy stretch is one of Jervis Bay’s very best dolphin-spotting beaches and also one of its least-visited. A heavenly spot where dogs (and their owners) can play fetch, swim and soak up the rays for hours on end from 4.00 pm every day until 8.00 am the next. Nelsons is an expansive and super relaxing beach, especially ideal for early morning walks.
