Meet Our Founder

Hi, I’m Amelia Hooper!

I’m the founder of Hooper Ruff, dog mum to Posie, and a firm believer that beautiful things should also be practical.

After years working as an Executive Assistant, I found myself craving something more creative, fulfilling, and purpose-driven. I loved the structure and organisation my job gave me, but I wanted to build something of my own — something that made life better not just for people, but for their dogs too.

That moment came on a rainy walk with Posie. I realised the products I needed — waterproof gear that looked good, grooming that actually worked, and fragrances that didn’t smell like cheap florals — just didn’t exist. So I created them.

What started on my kitchen bench has grown into a full product line, carefully developed in collaboration with a female perfumer who helps us curate elegant, elevated scents (inspired by cult-favourite perfumes), and an Australian chemist who ensures our formulas are safe, effective, and made for real dogs and real life. From home-grown ideas to lab-backed results, I’m proud to say everything we create is intentional, functional, and thoughtfully designed.

Hooper Ruff has become the perfect blend of my love for dogs, my obsession with details, and my dream to bring something new to the pet care space — products that help people feel good about how they care for their dogs.

And we’re only just getting started.

Sustainability — Let’s Talk Plastic

We’ll be real with you: yes, we use plastic.

Our grooming bottles are made from recycled materials, and we’ve designed them to be refilled, repurposed, and recycled again. You can peel off our labels and reuse the bottles — think plant sprayers, DIY cleaners, or travel-sized pet essentials.

We also use PVC-coated webbing (also known as BioThane®) for our collars and leads — not fabric or rope. Why? Because they last 3–5 years, compared to fabric and rope styles that typically wear out in under 12 months. That’s up to 5x longer, which means fewer frayed collars, less waste, and less landfill.

On top of that, we offer replacement parts and hardware, so if your dog’s collar gets damaged or worn over time, you can repair it instead of replacing the whole thing. Our collars are not fast fashion — they’re built for the long haul.
We make every decision with care — balancing durability, safety, sustainability, and real-life use. Our materials are chosen for a reason: they’re made to last, reduce waste, and support a lifestyle that values quality over quantity.
